The SSC rule
The SSC CGL 2026 and CHSL 2026 notices ask for the scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format, 10 to 20 KB, about 6.0 cm wide and 2.0 cm high. The online form instructions in the same notices say about 4.0 × 2.0 cm. Both say “about”; the KB range is the same everywhere.
No photo upload
The SSC application captures your photo live with the webcam or phone camera, so there is no photo file to upload. Don’t wear a cap, mask or glasses, and don’t take a photo of a printed photo — it is rejected.
What BasePic does
One tap crops to 3:1 (6.0 × 2.0 cm) or 2:1 (4.0 × 2.0 cm) and saves a JPG between 10 and 20 KB. It starts at 360 × 120 or 240 × 120 pixels; if even the highest quality is under 10 KB, it makes the image larger in the same shape until it reaches 10 KB.
