The DV photo rules
For the Diversity Visa entry the State Department asks for a JPEG (.jpg) file of 240 kB or less, square, 600 × 600 pixels. The other rules are the same as for any US visa photo: in color, plain white or off-white background, head 50–69 % of the image height, taken in the last 6 months, no glasses.

What size is the DV lottery photo?
600 × 600 pixels, square, JPEG, 240 kB or less.
Can I use an old photo?
Use a photo taken in the last 6 months. The DV-2026 instructions also said not to reuse a photo from an earlier year’s entry.
Can I wear glasses?
No. Glasses are not allowed in new visa photos, except in rare cases for medical reasons.
Does BasePic send my entry?
No. BasePic only makes the photo file. The entry is made on the official E-DV website, dvprogram.state.gov.
