Sizes in pixels

35 × 45 mm is 413 × 531 pixels at 300 DPI — the passport and ID photo size used in Europe and many other countries. A US passport or visa photo is 2 × 2 inches, 600 × 600 pixels. A 3 × 4 cm CV photo is 354 × 472 pixels.

Check the other rules

Passport offices also have rules for the background, the light and the size of the head. BasePic sets the size and the crop — check your country’s rules for the rest before you print or send the photo.

Print it at the right size

When you print, set the size to 35 × 45 mm (or 2 × 2 in). The photo has the right shape and enough pixels for a sharp print at 300 DPI.
