MyBB image upload
One button under the editor.
A free MyBB 1.8 plugin. Members click Upload image, pick or drop photos, and the MyCode lands in their post. No sign-up, no API key.
Not on MyBB? There is a phpBB extension and an SMF mod, and the website plugin adds the same button to XenForo, vBulletin, Discourse or any page with a text box — one script tag.
What your members get
- Upload image
A button under the editor — new thread, reply, edit and private messages — and under the quick reply box.

One click puts the MyCode at the cursor and closes the window. Each image links to its BasePic page.

Privacy
The plugin loads nothing from basepic.com until a member clicks the button. The upload happens in the BasePic window, under the BasePic Privacy Policy and Terms. Programs (.exe, .msi, .apk …) are refused, also inside ZIP files; illegal content is removed.
The .zip is the full source (PHP, JavaScript, GPL-2.0). SHA-256: 29d9dfa1544a050bf354c9c769abbffceb42e3a8cad81ce8720e7b6a8a856e68
MyBB plugin questions
Which MyBB versions does it support?
MyBB 1.8. It was tested on MyBB 1.8.41 with the default theme, on PHP 8.3.
Does it change my templates?
No. The button is added through plugin hooks: under the editor in new thread, reply, edit and private messages, and under the message box in quick reply. Deactivating the plugin removes it everywhere.
Does it work with the MyCode editor?
Yes. With the editor on, the code goes into the editor at the cursor, in WYSIWYG and in source mode. Without it, the code goes into the plain message box.
Do my members need a BasePic account?
No. Members upload without signing up, and so do you. There is no API key to set.
Does the plugin load scripts from BasePic?
No. Its script (about 4 KB) ships with the plugin as jscripts/basepic_upload.js and loads only on pages with the button. Nothing is loaded from basepic.com until a member clicks Upload image. The window then sends the code back with postMessage, addressed only to your forum.
Who can use the button?
Only members who may post images there: MyCode and [img] MyCode allowed in that forum, and for private messages the private messaging MyCode and [img] MyCode settings. Elsewhere the button is not shown.
Where are the images stored and for how long?
On basepic.com, each with its own short link. They stay until the uploader deletes them or until the expiry they choose (1 day to 1 year). Uploads are private — not listed anywhere and hidden from search engines.
Is it free? Are there limits?
Yes, free and open source (GPL-2.0). Limits are per member address: 60 uploads or edits per hour, 300 per day and 2 GB per day; 20 uploads from a link per hour and 100 per day.
How do I remove it?
ACP → Configuration → Plugins → Deactivate, then Uninstall (removes the settings), then delete the three files. Images already posted keep working.
