No account, no cookies

You can use BasePic without an account. BasePic sets no cookies and uses no advertising trackers.

Your browser keeps a small note of your own uploads (the link code and its delete key) so you can delete them later. It stays on your device and you can clear it at any time.

Visit statistics

To count visits we use our own analytics service (analiza.metoda.rs), not a third party. It sets no cookies. For each page view it records the page address, the site you came from, your IP address and the approximate location and network derived from it, your browser and device type, screen size and browser language.

Visitors are counted with a code that changes every day, so visits are not linked across days. We use these statistics only to see how BasePic is used.

Files you upload

We store the files you upload so the links work. Uploads are not listed anywhere on BasePic, and their pages are hidden from search engines. Anyone who has a link can open that file.

Before a photo or phone video goes online, BasePic removes its GPS location from the file. Files stay until you delete them, or until we remove them for breaking the Terms.

Photo details. When a photo is uploaded, BasePic reads its camera details (device, lens, settings and the time it was taken) and shows them on the photo page. If the photo has a GPS location, we keep it separately and show it only in the browser that uploaded the photo, together with the nearest town. It appears on the page only if you turn on Show location on this page, and you can turn it off again. Deleting the photo deletes these details too. Place names come from GeoNames.

What we keep with each upload

• the file name, type, size and the time of the upload;
• the IP address it came from — to enforce upload limits and to deal with abuse reports;
• the delete key, so only the uploader can delete the file;
• for photos, the camera details and the location read from the file, as described above.

We are notified of new uploads, with their IP address, so we can find and remove illegal content quickly.

Downloads from other sites

When you use Download photo, video or file, BasePic fetches the public link you paste. We keep the IP address and the site name of each request to enforce limits. The downloaded file is deleted from BasePic after one hour.

Server logs

Like any website, our servers log requests: the IP address, the page, the time and the browser name. These logs are kept for about two weeks for security and then deleted.

Who sees your data

We don’t sell or share your data. It is stored on our own servers in Europe. We disclose it only when the law requires it, for example in reply to a valid court order, or to report illegal content to the authorities.

Deleting your files

Open your short link in the browser you uploaded from and tap Delete — both links stop working right away. If you lost access, write to privacy@basepic.com with the link and we will help.

Children

BasePic is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them.
