Website plugin
Upload image, one script tag.
Add an image upload button to your forum, blog or website. Your visitors upload through BasePic; images appear in their post as BBCode, HTML or Markdown.
Add this line before </body> on your page:
<script src="https://basepic.com/a/plugin.js" data-format="bbcode"></script> Works with any textarea: phpBB, vBulletin, XenForo, Discourse, WordPress, MyBB and custom forms.

This box has the plugin attached. Click the button under it, upload a photo and see the code appear:
Options
| Attribute | Values | What it does |

data-thumbnail | 0 (default), 1 | 1 inserts a 1280 px thumbnail linked to the full-size image — lighter forum pages. |
data-selector | any CSS selector | Which fields get the button. Default: every textarea. |
data-label | text | Button text. Default: Upload image. |
data-auto | 0 | Do not add buttons; call BasePicPlugin.open(field) or BasePicPlugin.attach(selector) yourself. |
Examples
Markdown for a blog comment form, thumbnails linked to the full image:
<script src="https://basepic.com/a/plugin.js" data-format="markdown" data-thumbnail="1" data-selector="#comment"></script> Your own button (any editor):
<script src="https://basepic.com/a/plugin.js" data-auto="0" data-format="html"></script>
<button onclick="BasePicPlugin.open(document.querySelector('#editor'))">Add image</button> The inserted code looks like this (BBCode):

Plugin questions
How does the plugin work?
The script adds an Upload image button under every text area on your page. The visitor clicks it, picks or drops photos, and a small BasePic window uploads them. One more click inserts the code at the cursor — BBCode, HTML, Markdown or just the link.
Does it load anything else from BasePic?
Only this one script (about 4 KB). No CSS, no cookies, no tracking on your site. The upload itself happens in the BasePic window, under the BasePic Privacy Policy.
Which forums and editors does it support?
Any page with a <textarea>: phpBB, vBulletin, XenForo, MyBB, SMF, Discourse, WordPress comments and custom forms. For editors that are not a textarea, call BasePicPlugin.open(element) from your own button.
Where do the images go and for how long?
To basepic.com, with a short link and a direct link each. They stay until the uploader deletes them or chooses an expiry (1 day to 1 year). Uploads are private — not listed anywhere and hidden from search engines.
Is it free? Are there limits?
Yes, free, with no sign-up and no key. Limits are per visitor address: 60 uploads or edits per hour, 300 per day and 2 GB per day; 20 uploads from a link per hour and 100 per day.
Does it work on HTTP sites?
Yes. The window opens on https://basepic.com and talks back to your page with postMessage, limited to your site's origin.
