BasePic

Compress a photo
to 50 KB.

Upload a photo and BasePic makes it fit under 50 KB, at the best quality it can.

or drag and drop files anywhere on this page · paste an image with Ctrl+V

How it works

  1. Upload a photo

Tap Upload photo and pick a JPG, PNG, HEIC or WebP photo.

  2. Check the size

Resize opens on File size with 50 KB already picked. You can still crop or pick another size.

  3. Save and download

Tap Save & get link. The new photo shows its exact size in KB and pixels — tap Download, or copy its link.

For upload limits

Application forms, school and job portals and some profile pages take photos only under 50 KB. Pick the limit and BasePic keeps the file under it.

Best quality that fits

BasePic tries a high JPEG quality first and lowers it until the photo fits. If even the lowest quality is too big, it makes the photo smaller in pixels and tries again.

Sharper with a crop

A photo of a face needs far fewer pixels than a whole scene. Crop to what matters first (Crop → 3:4 for a portrait), and 50 KB looks clearly better.

Saved as JPG

The result is a JPG, the format most forms ask for. Transparent parts turn white. The new file carries no location or camera details, and the original photo does not change.

Compress to 50 KB: questions

How do I compress a photo to 50 KB?

Upload the photo on this page. Resize opens with 50 KB picked — tap Save & get link, then Download.

My form says 20–50 KB. Which size do I pick?

Type a size near the top of the range under Custom, like 45 KB. BasePic keeps the file under it, and after you save the new photo shows its exact size, so you can check that it is above the lower limit before you download.

Does it work with iPhone photos?

Yes. HEIC photos are turned into JPG in your browser first, then compressed like any other photo.

Is it free?

Yes. No sign-up and no watermark.
